The Hike:

After parking along Highland Drive, locate the dirt trail that leads to this sign (this is the start of the trail):
Continue on the trail and follow the signs that read “Bishop Peak”:
The first portion of the hike is completely covered in shade and is fairly flat. Once the trail opens up, the peak comes into view and the real climb begins:
After reaching the green gate, take a sharp left turn to continue on the Bishop Peak trail:
The trail continues by wrapping around the ridge of Bishop Peak, offering incredible views of San Luis Obispo:
The last half mile of the trail includes steep switchbacks all the way up to the peak. The peak is marked by a bench that reads “End of Trail”:
After taking in the beauty of San Luis Obispo, take the same trail back to Highland Drive. Enjoy!
